What a glorious place in Colorado to experience fall colors! These photos were all taken on the same day. Since I had never been here before, the drive up the rough road in the dark was a bit challenging, and I was grateful that my husband was in the driver's seat. When the sun rose and we gazed across the valley, we were left speechless. The hillsides were awash in aspen yellow, orange, and green, with Capitol Peak looming large in the distance. The photo opportunities were endless, and we returned in the early evening hoping to catch a bit of color to end the day. We watched a spectacular sunset that was truly special to witness, let alone photograph. Sometimes that drive down the dirt road, or up in this case, is definitely worth the effort.
